| Comic Book Writing Workshops With Christopher's passion for creating his own comic books in mind, the Foundation launched "Christopher's Comic Book Inspirations" -- a series of comic book writing workshops -- led by Alex Simmons, a professional writer of comic books and other fictional materials, and founder of Kids Comic Con. Tthe program was held for a second year in a row in January 2011 with Paterson's School 21 fifth graders. Over 90 children participated. The children learn all steps to create a four-panel comic strip from creating a character, to developing a plot and scripting a story, to penciling, lettering & inking their story on comic strip boards donated by Canson Paper Products This year, due to state budget cuts and the loss of their art, music and library programs, Christopher's Comic Book Inspirations was increased to six workshops -- it is the only creative outlet the kids receive all year. | Culminating Event Following the workshops, students and their families gather to celebrate the children's efforts. All the children who complete a four panel comic strip receive a Certificate of Excellence. Professional illustrators are invited to share their own love of comics. This year, we are pleased to welcome Mark Mariano of the Happyloo Series. Fernando Ruiz from Archie Comics and Jamal Igle from DC Comics attended the 2010 culminating event. |

| Christopher and his brother, Ryan, loved to read Spider-man comic books. Often they served as bed time stories. When Christopher was 8, he created his own comic books, "The Adventures of Ultimate Man." He sold them on the front yard, like other kids sell lemonade. |
